Women In Film Monologue Challenge Terms and Conditions.

  1. All content submitted to the challenge can be used by Women In Film for promotional purposes: This means that any monologues submitted can be used for advertising, marketing, or promotional activities related to the challenge or the organization itself. Participants should be aware that their content could be shared publicly.
  2. The submitter must be 18 years of age or older: This requirement ensures that participants are of an age where they can understand and consent to the terms and conditions of the challenge given the laws of Uganda permit an 18-year-old to be of working age. 
  3. Women In Film reserves the right to announce the winner. Views and engagement metrics do not influence the outcome of the winner: Women In Film will announce the winner of the challenge and may engage with the audience on social media platforms. 
  4. The submitting person must be available to be in Kampala between July 10th and August 17th, 2024: Finalists or winners may need to be present in Kampala between those dates for potential events that are meant to train and brand the finalists such as workshops, monologue shoots and the grand symposium or other related activities.
  5. Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 31st May 2024 to be considered for the challenge.
  6. Participants are only allowed to submit one entry into the challenge, if found to have submitted multiple entries only the first one submitted will be considered for the challenge. 
  7. Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on specific criteria such as performance, creativity, relevance to theme, etc. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
  8. Disqualification: Women In Film reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the terms and conditions or is deemed inappropriate or offensive.
  9. Notification of Winners: The top 10 finalists will be notified via email or phone within a month and a half after the submission deadline. The winner and two runners-up will be announced at the grand symposium.
  10. Prize Acceptance: By participating in the challenge, winners agree to accept the prize as awarded and release Women In Film from any liability associated with the prize.
  11. Publicity Release: Winners agree to allow Women In Film to use their name, likeness, and submitted content for promotional purposes without further compensation.
  12. Governing Law: This challenge is governed by the laws of Uganda, and participants agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Uganda. Ugandan laws will govern any legal matters related to the challenge, and participants agree to abide by the jurisdiction of Ugandan courts in case of any disputes or legal issues.
